Film Studio Experience

This educational and interactive visit takes place inside our Film Studio in Marietta, GA, where we’re currently producing the educational show The Very Airy Library. Students of all ages love this experience!

What Students Do

We walk students through the basic process of taking an idea and bringing it to life on camera. In the first portion, we cover filmmaking fundamentals—what a set is, the equipment we use, what a script is, and how we break a script down. The remaining two-thirds is highly interactive: students work in small groups to try the equipment and help build a simple scene. It’s a blast.

The core message is about the power of creativity—the ability to imagine something and then bring it to life. Film is simply the medium we use to demonstrate that idea.

FAQs

Who is this for?

The Film Experience is an educational field trip designed for students ages 7 and up, or those in second grade and beyond. It is a truly unique, one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we treat it that way.

Who is the not for?

This is an educational experience taught by industry professionals—not an amusement ride or theatrical show. Your students will have a blast, but more importantly, they will learn some of the fundamentals of how films are made.

What if we homeschool or don’t have a group?

We offer group sessions for homeschool co-ops. We also occasionally schedule open dates when individual families can register. Contact us below to ask about upcoming availability.

Do you charge for adults or chaperones?

We charge half price—$15—for adults, chaperones, and family members under age 7.

Do you require a deposit to hold a date?

Yes, we require a $250 nonrefundable deposit to reserve your date. After the deposit has been paid, we allow one date change, provided the request is made at least two weeks before the originally scheduled date.

Do you have enough parking for schools buses?

Yes, we have ample space for school buses to park.

Can we eat lunch there?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate a space for groups to eat inside. However, many schools choose to eat on their buses or outside before or after the field trip, and there are also plenty of restaurants near the studio.

If we're a homeschool co-op, can you bill each family individually?

Yes! We can create a registration link so each family can purchase their own tickets individually.

A word of caution

If instructors with a sense of humor and a natural ability to relate to kids make you nervous, this experience may not be the right fit. We are a free-thinking, free-speaking group of artists, and while we always do our best to keep the language age-appropriate, we cannot guarantee that the occasional silly or potty-related joke will not slip through.

In other words: serious learning, plenty of laughter, and perhaps a little bathroom humor along the way.
